Atkinsons ties

We were recently tasked to develop a new silk tie as part of the major Titanic Ship centenary commemoration. The neckties are based on a registered tartan conceived to represent colours reflecting the Titanic's short history.

While ultimately at the centre of a tragedy, this ship represented a huge and impressive feat of engineering. It remains a source of pride, and is going to have a permanent museum opening soon close to the dry dock where it was built in Belfast.

Our Irish Poplin and Silk Tie Collection will be "On The Road" for the 2012 season. We shall be visiting the following Trade Shows:

Pitti Uomo, Florence 10th-13th January,

New York City [Various shows] 22nd-25th January.

In addition, our ties can also be viewed at the show in Charlotte, USA and in the showroom in Dusseldorf, Germany during the clothing exhibition.Just email us for more details.

This year has seen our 190th year of business. We have a rich and interesting heritage, and one of which we are proud. As the year draws to a close we are looking forward to taking Atkinsons to the next anniversary [200 years!!].

Ties remain our key focus, and in addition to silk foulard and silk jacquard tie developments, Irish Poplin ties and wool ties in narrower profiles with their matt aspect resonate particularly well for next Autumn/Winter trends.

The other big product news is the launch of an Atkinsons cap collection for 2012. Using familiar classic cloths, we are going to offer a core group of unmistakably British/Irish wools. Expect some pictures and a proper online appearance by February.

Atkinsons is delighted to announce the successful launch of ties and bow ties in the world-famous Selfridges store. Finishing touches are already being made to a fresh tie selection for Spring /Summer 2012. Selfridges is an essential destination for any visitor to London who has an interest in ties in particular, or fashion in general.

We were delighted to welcome Ed Gallagher, who carries Atkinsons in New England. Ed has over 70 years in the clothing business in every aspect [buying, representation and manufacture], and serves great menswear accounts such as 0'Connells and The Andover Shop. His enthusiasm and energy is inspiring. We hope that he enjoyed his stay!

We are proud to announce the launch of our new website, which sees us now able to offer our ties for sale online. The website also boasts many other features including a bespoke tie design facility, downloadable product brochures, as well as providing lots of information about the history and heritage of the business.
